Incubi, succubi, kitsune, huli jing, lilu, melusine, lamia, and so on. Myths and legends around the world are filled with tales of these spirits, often called demons, who share one common aspect: they interact sexually with humans. The reasons as to why vary with the parties involved and who's telling the tale. More often than not, it doesn't end well for the mortals they visit, but sometimes some good comes from it. Or at the very least, it doesn't wind up being all bad. More recently, nuanced tales are told of these creatures: they have wants, needs, and desires beyond the flesh. Sometimes they can do good, despite their perceived nature.

Enter a world where these creatures exist, if they don't already in your character's canon. Explore what it would be like for your character to either be one of these creatures or to interact with one of them. Will they survive the encounter?

1. Post a comment with your character's name, canon, and preferences in the subject line. It's recommended that you also write out some ideas for what you'd like to play out in the body: ideas for scenarios or dynamics, a blurb about your character's past and abilities, etc. Try not to leave it blank; give people something to work with.

2. If you're having trouble deciding, some options have been provided that you can RNG.

3. Respect people's preferences. Though the premise of this meme deals with sexual issues, this is not necessarily a smut meme. You can play out all the gen, fluff, smut, hurt/comfort, etc. that you want. Just make sure to respect your partners.

Roles

1. Incubus - The most common name for the male form of this creature, they are known for visiting women and feeding upon them during intercourse. They have been known to be witches' familiars. Of course, there's no reason why they should be limited to working with or feeding upjust women, or women at all.
2. Succubus - The female form of these creatures, most tales describe them as visiting and feeding upon men during the night. They have been blamed for the nocturnal emissions and being the mothers of other demons. Just as with incubi, they do not have to be limited to visiting women only or at all.
3. Shifter - Depending on the story, there is only one kind of spirit that visits people: capable of shifting sex, it visits one person in one form and another person in another.
4. Victim - Maybe it was chance that brought you to the attention of one of these creatures. Maybe someone cursed you. Maybe you're just that attractive in some form or another. No matter what the reason is, you
5. Summoner/Partner/Worshipper - Perhaps you're a witch or some other kind of magician summoning this creature. It could be for a magical partnership or it could be to use against someone else. Maybe you're just lonely and want to get laid. In some cultures, creatures like this were feared and/or worshipped - maybe you're keeping the traditions alive?
6. Progeny - Merlin and Gilgamesh are both examples of children fathered by these creatures. It's obvious that the union between them and humans produces children of unusual skill. If you're the child of an incubus or a succubus, do you know it? Do you want to know your real parents?
7. Hunter - Were you a victim who broke free of their clutches? Was someone you know hurt by these creatures? Are you part of a group devoted to monitoring or taking them out? Whatever the reason, you pursue these creatures and try to minimize the harm they can do.
8. Other - Not everything is covered above. Feel free to play out any scenarios you want in the setting.

Scenarios

1. Summoning - If you're capable of it (or maybe it was an accident), you've summoned yourself an incubus or a succubus. Are they going to listen to you, or are they going to have their way in one form or another?
2. (Repeat) Feeding - A creature's got to eat, and these creatures feed through contact - usually sexual, but sometimes any old physical contact will do. They say a person can survive, but sometimes the urge to feed gets too strong and they feed too deeply.
3. Illness - You've been visited, and probably not for the first time. When a person is fed upon, they will most likely start showing signs. Fatigue, suggestibility, and so on. Will someone notice? Will your visitor have a change of heart?
4. Romance - It's rare, but it happens. There's no malice behind feeding, usually. It's just a creature trying to survive, and sometimes they fall in love. But can they tell the person they've fallen for what they are? Will that person accept them?
5. Discovery - Now's as good as time as any, or maybe it's the worst possible time, but people know. How will you deal, as one of these creatures? Do you run? As the person who's found out, do you attack them or try to understand, if understanding is possible?
6. Weakness - Sometimes there's a weakness these creatures have. Cliche as it might sound, sometimes love can save you. In some versions of the story, true love will protect a person and ward them from these creatures. Sometimes love will actively hurt them.
7. Other - It's a whole new world out there. Maybe you're an incubus or succubus that tries to live as a librarian and likes getting coffee from the shop down the street. From mundane to exciting to cruel, your choices are limitless.

[Zero, Kyu. The answer was zero. A shocking twist, doubtless.]

Oh my god, it's worse than I thought.

Right, lemme introduce myself. [And she pulled a card from her cleavage, offering it to him.] I'm Kyu, a Love Fairy. A genuine, honest to Venus Love Fairy. You, need help, of the romantic kind.

This isn't funny.

[She had to have been put up to this. Sado and Kurosaki wouldn't have, certainly. Asano, maybe?]

[Yes, in a world where he'd seen the spirits of the dead as long as he could remember and hunted soul-eating monsters, in a world where he'd seen a talking cat, he was arbitrarily skeptical of a "love fairy".]

[He hesitated to even accept the card, and when he took it, he took it grudgingly.]

Fuck yeah it isn't. You haven't been on any dates, so I need to teach you how to have one. C'mon hot stuff, grab your shit and lets go.

[And she wasn't taking no for an answer. There's no game over on this, Ishida.]

[He was a teenage boy, and she was attractive. There was a split second where he almost looked tempted.]

[But he wasn't interested in going on a date - even with a girl as cute as her - if this was just some prank.]

Thank you, but no. Dating and romance aren't a priority for me right now - and neither is being subject to someone's elaborate idea of a prank.

[It certainly had nothing to do with the way Ishida was already pining for a certain girl whose heart already belonged to Kurosaki, even if the dense idiot still didn't know it after years.]

[Kyu already had his attention, but his eyes widened at that.]

[She wasn't a Shinigami or a Hollow or anything else he's encountered before - he'd have sensed it. But she was levitating. Which meant...]

[It only fully registered a moment later everything she's said.]

I hadn't said anything about having an object of affections! [Yeah, that was going to fool her.]

[Still, if she tried to get him moving along to wherever she was going, she'd at least find he'd follow along, even if he was protesting he didn't want her help along the way.]

Duh, but trying to FIND someone you like is part of the job. So, I'm Kyu and I am a LOVE FAIRY. It's MY JOB, to get slackers like you hooked up. That means dating, gifts, romance, banging.

Depending on that order, you'll have fun with it. So c'mon, again, get your shit. We're going on a date. There's this great outdoor patio we can go to at this hour.

[Even the suggestion of "banging" made him blush a little, but it was calling him a slacker that really seemed to rile him up.] I'll have you know I'm quite diligent and studious.

[He didn't, however, object to anything else, and so he got his things, and soon enough, they were at the outdoor patio.]

That might be a fact of LIFE, but there's also the fact that you haven't even dated once. No dates, no nothing, no interest. The higher ups send me to deal with this.

[She grinned as they arrived and got a table. She ordered a beer for herself.] So, tell me about yourself, not that I don't know already.

[... The hard facts were on her side. He couldn't dispute that.]

My name is Ishida Uryu. I'm a senior at Karakura High School. I'm at the top of my class. I'm student council president. Sewing is my hobby. [... This was supposed to be a practice run for a date, right? He probably shouldn't outright mention the whole thing about seeing the dead and being the last in a legacy of exorcists.] ... And I practice archery.

[If this was a practice date, next, he should...] What about you, Kyu-san? What sort of hobbies does a Love Fairy have? I'm curious about you.

[Kyu took a pull of the drink before she grinned.] First of all, I like porn.

Oh don't be shy, even a girl can like porn. I like watching lots of it in a day.

[It's a good thing Ishida hadn't been taking a sip of his water. He might just have choked on it. As it was, the blush he'd had earlier was only more pronounced now, his cheeks quite warm.] A-ah. I see. Is having such an active libido... typical for love fairies? Or is it more of a personal trait? [Well, he was stumbling a little, but he wasn't at a complete loss for words.]

I-I see. [As composed and collected as Ishida tried to always present himself as, he was still a teenage boy, with the libido that entailed. And now his imagination was in overdrive.]

[She seemed to enjoy reading him, but he should probably deflect before the hole he was digging himself into got any deeper.] What else can you tell me about Love Fairies? I've never met one before.

I don't see the harm. Well first, I am working for Goddess Venus. She's the one who employs all of us. Some of us used to be succubi or incubi, but some like myself are pure Love Fairy.

Think of us as Cherubs, meant to help people fall in love.

Venus? The Roman goddess? [His eyebrows raise at that.] To be honest with you, I didn't think gods existed.

[He'd seen the afterlife, after all, and in almost every religion's cosmology, the afterlife was presided over by a god whose dominion was death. Not so with the afterlife he'd visited, ruled instead by a bureaucracy of psychopomps.]

So... Every love fairy... This is their job? They don't get any say in what they would like to do with their existence? [He seemed like he was starting to get sidetracked from the whole "practice-date" thing.]

Well they do. Some of them haven't interacted with mortals for ages. But Venus has always had a interest in humanity.

[She grinned a little, shrugging.] This is our job, but it's not all we do. Someone's got to do the paperwork after all.

[shiro_megane_kun]

[Interesting. One might think, given her interest in humanity, she wouldn't be eclipsed by the Abrahamic religions, the Hindu devas, or the Shinto kami. And yet, she hasn't been properly worshiped for centuries now.]

Somehow, Kyu-san, you don't strike me as the sort to prefer paperwork to field work, if you don't mind my saying so.

Yeah well, that's a given. [She shrugged a little, taking a sip from her beer.]

I used to be office-work, until the population began to boom. In the beginning it was simple work. Report in when you hook someone up, that sort of thing.

Now it's paperwork every time someone knocks boots.

That... sounds exhausting. Unless the Love Fairy population can keep pace with human population growth, it sounds inefficient, and it's only going to become worse. Have you considered digitizing the paperwork?

[Something the Shinigami could stand to do, too. Then maybe they'd spend less time doing paperwork and more time actually hunting Hollows.]

Oh it is computerized. The Hunie Bee 2.0 is our PDA, and we give these out to people. Oh, here's yours.

[She pulled a phone-like device out of her cleavage and handed it to him.] That will track every girl you meet, what they like, record birthdays, information, and access the online store which you buy things with Munie, points saved up from successful questions, flirtations, etc.

[He was starting to think she had an extradimensional space in her cleavage - though he wasn't bold enough to say it aloud.]

[He picked it up, examining it, scrolling through it before glancing over to Kyu.] Not that the online store isn't useful, but shouldn't it be important that I remember their birthdays, their hobbies, what they like on my own? [He could be a little old-fashioned - a bit of a romantic, maybe.]

[Out of curiosity, he checked to see if Kyu herself was listed in the Hunie Bee.]
